About Dr. Roshan

Daniel Roshan, MD, is an interventional pain management specialist at Pacific Pain Physicians in Santa Barbara, California, with a passion for wellness and helping his patients regain control of their lives by relieving their pain and restoring mobility.

This passion can be traced back to his early years, when Dr. Roshan played basketball and football, participated in Olympic weightlifting, and practiced martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This appreciation for an active lifestyle led him to become a personal trainer and strength coach, and helped him connect the dots between physical, mental, and emotional health, and the importance of properly managing pain and injuries. This passion not only led him to his medical profession as a pain management specialist, but also as a scientific researcher exploring the future of pain management treatments. His research includes exploring ways to prevent the progression of degenerative disc disease and back pain.

Dr. Roshan did his Pain Fellowship at Cedars Sinai. He has earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine, and his medical degree at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated in the top fourth of his class. He also completed his postdoctoral clinical training with an anesthesiology residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, where he scored in the 94th percentile of all nationwide test-takers in his specialty in-training exam. During this residency, he discovered that pain management would be a guiding force in his medical career.

Dr. Roshan is active in many medical and professional associations, including the International Intervention Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the Central Coast Medical Association, the California Society of Anesthesiologists, the California Medical Association, the American Medical Association and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
